I have changed this page recently. Its a boring story but I woke up one morning and decided that two lines about myself in my own blog was a bit sad. So, about me!
Let’s see, left school early, it was the 70’s and a lot of people did that. It was a statement, no one believed that the “system” was actually going to work, we had seen Vietnam implode and the oil prices made their first entry on to the world stage. Russia and the US still threatened to wipe out the planet with a mind boggling array of nukes so how was going to school or uni going to change any of that? Fast forward a few years and after an interesting history of working in various TV and multimedia businesses you can now find me slaving away for the ABC, Oz’s national publicly funded broadcaster, as a Technologist!
Despite the tag, I confess that I have become largely apathetic about technology. I mean we have a few problems in the world today and sure technology can help us with a few of them but our biggest problems have got bugger all to do with technology or science. So I am in part quite disillusioned by the promise of technology.
Which probably explains why I am working my way thru a BA in humanities at uni. Not exactly where I thought I might be when I was dropping out of school but life is funny like that!
