Intimate dinner between Kevin Rudd and Rupert Murdoch

What is going on here? Kev pops over to the US to report to his real bosses? Has a cup of tea with Barack and an intimate dinner with Rupert? No comment says the PM. So did they talk about football perhaps, maybe they compared family fotos or had a deep and meaningful discussion about life on other planets. I’m flat out getting an answer from a junior minister about public policy and I’m a constituent. Rupert who opted to become a US citizen so he could make even more money, gets a private dinner, no doubt paid for by the Australian taxpayer, with our PM who has just flown half way round the world to say hello.

Why don’t we invite Rupert back. Tell him we think this democracy thing isn’t working and we would prefer to know who is really running the show. He can be king for life as long as we still get to read about it in the Oz. It would save on the intimate dinners since its not the first time Kev and Rupe have broken bread together.

Lack of funds sank solar power farm

Perhaps these guys need to talk to the private schools of Victoria. Lack of funds sank solar power farm

So the agenda of Rudd and Co should be pretty clear to all and sundry by now. More of the same policies that Howard gave us with the occasional symbolic gesture to the left thrown in. All this talk about the future by Rudd and Labor is about only one future, their next election. The list of bribes to middle australia policies include the generous first home buyers subsidy (which is propping up the housing market), the Carr Plan (which is giving us, well obviously, cars) and now The Status Quo in Education which is making sure the rich schools don’t have to ask Parents for more money. Let’s not forget Peter’s new song Let’s Mine Uranium Now or Martin Ferguson sterling efforts to sell more and more and more carbon to a world desperate for more CO2. What a bunch!

Polluters win no matter who is in power | theage.com.au

Kenneth Davidson sums its up rather nicely…“policy is developed between key ministers and industry lobbyists representing mining, private heath insurance, religious and independent schools and employer groups….It is clear that the Rudd Government is not prepared to undertake reforms to reverse the Howard government’s policies, which created two-tier health and education systems where access is largely determined by income and reinforced by fiscal policy.”
